This amphitheatre, with a capacity of 500, was built by the Greek Workers’ Hearth Organisation. Not long ago, and following negotiations with the Ministry of Labour, the Municipality of Chania was granted ownership of the venue and its management was devolved to the CHANIA MUNICIPAL PUBLIC BENEFIT ENTERPRISE FOR CULTURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT – CENTRE FOR MEDITERRANEAN ARCHITECTURE.
The theatre is the city’s best-kept secret; a new and cosy art venue in a wonderful location that is ready to host performances and events.
